it's almost Christmas already! by jen geigley

So I decided I wouldn't post this until I was well into it, but I've decided to join Shimelle's class and make a journal about this Christmas. It's been fun so far. You make one page every day in December all the way through the 12th day of Christmas (in January.) I hope to make it all the way through (even though I'm a little behind as of today...) No fear, always time to catch up.

Here's how everything looks so far. (Whew, I know it's a lot at once...)

farming Grandpa's land by jen geigley

My grandpa owned a farm on some land near Elmore, Minnesota - for years, he farmed there. The house is no longer standing, but there is a grove of trees that still mark the farm. My brother was lucky enough to be able to harvest those exact fields this year - pretty remarkable. Being the sentimental nerd that I am, I made Chris go out to the fields with me so I could take a photo. My grandpa would seriously have been so proud.

To cut or not to cut. Reese Witherspoon bangs, specifically. No, I don't expect to magically become Reese Witherspoon. She's absolutely gorgeous and we look nothing alike. I am just thinking about trying to copy her bangs. (I'm probably going to do it anyway, but I just wanted to see what other people would say.) Please vote!

So, I'm not sure I understand the obsession, but Lotus really is obsessed with this book:

I guess I'm just surprised that she even has a favorite book at this young age. But it's so much fun to read it to her. Over and over again. She must like the illustrations or something. She will say 'heh' as soon as you're done reading the words to let you know she's done with looking at the pictures and it's time to turn the page. It is very sweet. And I'll always remember that this was the first book she loved.

Lotus' first craft project (okay, so I helped a little but she technically did stick the pieces on)

Love these notepads/lists...

Martha's Halloween stamps (on sale)

It's cold enough to get out the Dwell blanket (our fave from last winter and I love the print)

and a nice Heidi Swapp idea book...

That should keep me busy for awhile. ;)
