Hey! I'm Jen.
Thanks for stopping by.

I am a knitter, author, knitwear pattern designer, graphic designer, and knitting instructor.

Lovely Des Moines, Iowa is the place I call home, and that's where I knit and live with my awesomely wild and wonderful family. Clean, modern designs are my thing and I have a love and appreciation for simple knits that are easy to wear. I also blog about knitting, crafting, concerts, skateboarding and music. Hardcore, metal, punk ... I love it all.

My designs have been published in Vogue Knitting, Knit Simple Magazine, Noro Magazine, Knitsy Magazine and Rowan Yarns / Quail Studios publications. I have self-published knitwear patterns online since 2010, when I posted the Gaptastic cowl on Ravelry and it quickly became one of the most knitted projects on the site. Originally trained in the arts, I create my own patterns, illustrations and schematics and graphic design work.

I have written and self-published six knitting books, Weekend, Everyday, Visions, Visions Kids, Luna and Chroma. I have designed a collection for Mason Dixon Knitting’s Field Guide No. 12, and I also design for Rowan Yarns + Quail Studio.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching Quentin Tarantino movies, going to concerts and listening to alt, metal and punk rock music.

If you have any questions, have wholesale inquiries or just want to say hello, feel free to email me at or use the contact form on this website.

I can’t wait to hear from you!
